She was born via C-section because an ultrasound on Thursday, August 4 (the 38th week of pregnancy) estimated her wieght at 9 pounds, 9 ounces, so the doctors were worried about her being over 10 pounds by her due date of Thursday, August 18.
We included a few pictures for your enjoyment.
Lauren resting peacefully.
This picture of Julia's belly was taken before bed on Wednesday, August 10.
This pictures was taken at about 4:50 am on Thursday, August 11. We had to be at the hospital by 5:30 for the 7:30 C-section. We were thankful that Gramma Jan can down on Wednesday night to take over Hannah duties for us. Neither Hannah nor Gramma Jan even stirred as we left the house.
This is Lauren shortly after being delivered.
Here she is proving to the world that she really was 9 pounds, 5 ounces when she was born.
These pictures capture Julia's first looks at Lauren after her birth.
Our new family unit!!
Hannah is such a proud big sister. (You cannot really see it well, but Gramma Jan and Hannah picked out a pink Big Sister shirt for Hannah to wear to the hospital.) To say that Hannah was excited to see Lauren is an understatement!!
Gramma Jan getting to hold Lauren for the first time.
Papa A getting to hold Lauren for the first time.
Grace and Kate getting to hold Lauren for the first time. (Kate is holding her in this picture, but the big sister Grace got the honors of holding Lauren before her little sister.)
Aunt Carla holding Lauren for the first time.
Lauren getting some Daddy time.
These pictures are of Hannah getting a close up look at Lauren.
Hannah brought some infant keys for Lauren's bassinet. Can you tell she is a proud big sister?
Hannah giving Lauren a kiss. (A paci kiss!)
I thought this one was funny...organizing for a family photo.
A great picutre. (Don't mind the scatch on Hannah's face. Per usual, she was jumping on our bed after her bath time on Wednesday night. On this night she decided to mix it up a little bit and have a blanket over her head. Let's just say a cheek colliding with our wood footboard was not a pretty site. Never a dull moment with a two year old.
Our new family!
We are going to attempt to post pictures often...please note the word attempt.
Thank you all for the love, support and well wishes.
