Apple Butter, Greg's Birthday, and Pumpkin Day!

Here are some scenes from October :)

Apple Butter Day! The first Saturday of every month is Apple Butter Day! A great day was had by all and Hannah really enjoyed helping peel the apples this year too.

Peeling the apples with her Daddy...he is dressed in a crazy apron that Vernetta picked out for him :) Everyone else got a kick out of it and he took it in stride :)

The peelers hard a work.

Peeling Day was also Greg's 35th Birthday. We had a little "surprise party" in the morning before we left for Columbia. Hannah and I decorated the basement with streamers and we celebrated with a big cookie at 8:00 a.m. Then later we had cake at Jan and Bill's house also.

Hannah and her cousins and friends at apple butter day. It's turned into quite a day for the kids to have fun playing outside.  It is great to see how much fun they have with very few toys!

Pumpkin Day is the day after Apple Butter Day, and provides more fall fun and a chance to gather with family and friends. Over 100 kids came to pick out pumpkins that day and stayed to play out on the farm. My Dad puts a lot of work into it, but he enjoys it and it is a great day for everyone.

Hannah absolutely loves playing with her cousins and I think Pumpkin Day is one of her favorite days of the year :)
