Deanna Rose Farmstead--A fun family outing where the girls got to bottle-feed goats, feed the fish, ride ponies, learn about farm life, and run around in wide open spaces. They love this place and so do we!
Going for a swim in our neighborhood pool! Here's Hannah, all decked out in her swim cap, goggles, and flippers :) The swim cap didn't last too long because she deemed it uncomfortable (true!) but she is turning in to quite the fish. She loves just going to swim for fun, jumping off of the side of the pool to me, and "diving" for her dive sticks (reaching into the very shallow end).
This was the basement, all decorated for my 35th birthday party...a surprise party thanks to Hannah and Lauren...with a little help from Greg :) It's turned in to somewhat of a tradition around here to decorate the basement and surprise the birthday parent :) The girls had homemade cards and a present for me and hid behind the couch and yelled surprise. Very sweet :)
Lauren getting in on her share of the swimming fun...although in her pajamas instead of her swimsuit :)
The LOVE to play hide and seek and love to hide behind the couch in the basement, waiting for me to come down the stairs and find them...always such a surprise ;). It is something they love to do and get along while they are doing it, so hooray for that!!
Lauren playing with play-dough. She loves it, still! She has loved playing with play-dough since she was a little teenie girl and it was one of the first toys that really captured her attention for a long time.
Just a typical afternoon...goofing around and trying to get me to give them another ride in the laundry basket! :)
Hannah's class field trip to Alldredge Apple Orchard--
Playing with all sorts of "art" supplies in the most easiest place to clean up :)
Playing with more art supplies in the other "easiest place to clean up"! This particular morning, Lauren had wanted to "bake". She loves to bake. But that morning, she was more interested in flinging flour all over the kitchen. So I decided that if she was going to have fun doing that, we might as well just do it outside. I sacrificed some flour and she had a great time scooping and flinging flour everywhere. There was still dried up flour mixture on our driveway approximately 2 weeks later, even after several attempts at hosing it off..ha!
Not sure what was going on here, but pretty sure Hannah was the ring-leader :)
Lauren and I on a little "nature walk" during Hannah's music class. After I pointed out some leaves, she wanted to pick up EVERY leaf and we were almost late picking Hannah up. She loves being outside and frequently if she is in a bad mood, a short trip outside does the trick to cheer her up.
Teenie kitten! The Dyers adopted this little kitten on the day of Kate's birthday party...such a sweet kitty and Lauren loved it!
Lauren loving her neon-icing birthday cake at Kate's party :)
Lauren sleeping on her big-girl mattress for the first time! In her newly-painted purple room!
Hannah with her Lowe's apron on, getting ready to help Grampa Bill put together Lauren's new bed!
Grampa Bill and Hannah go to work!
First night in her new bed! So exciting! It is a beautiful bed--such lucky girls to have homemade beds from Grampa Bill!
Hanging out at the neighborhood park!
Lauren getting ready to go for a walk :) She's in that boot phase wear galoshes are a fashion staple, no matter the weather!
Lauren playing doctor with her doctor coat on. She absolutely loves to play doctor...all of the time!! She throws her little bear down the stairs and then pretends that he is hurt and has a broken leg and then she takes him to the landing to her clinic area and fixes him up :)
So we got these really cool new cars...they are battery powered and they are really fun...when they are not stuck in Lauren's hair... Ahhh!! She did this twice in one day. Ouch! She hasn't done it since then, though! Yes...we did have to cut a chunk of hair out!
Lauren sitting on the couch watching Doc McStuffins...I had to distract her somehow so she could hold still enough for me to cut it out. Not the best morning!
Zoo!
Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch! One of our favorite places to go in the fall! It's right by our house and such a fun place to see animals, ride a little train, play on fun play equipment, and just have fun being outside.
Lauren was REALLY good at this. She sat right on there and understood how to do it right away. If you've ever done this before, you will know that it is not exactly easy!
The girls playing around during a field trip of the post office. This was the big bay where all of the postal trucks park, but of course almost all of them were gone during this time of day so it was a great place to just play!
And here they are inside the postal truck that was there!
The girls painting and having a blast. This was just before Lauren had and enormous temper tantrum (over something I can't even remember!) and flung all of her paint behind her on to the Venetian blinds. Have you ever cleaned neon paint off of Venetian blinds?! That was my most difficult clean-up mess to date!
Liberty Fall Festival--Hannah was supposed to be in the Fall Festival parade, but it rained that morning, making a very disappointed 4 yr old! The parade and the festival are a pretty big deal around here, and most of Liberty goes. Hannah was in the parade last year and it was so much fun. So we just decided to put on our rain gear and go to the festival anyway! There were still booths open and quite a few brave souls out and about. It turned out to be a really good time :)
Snuggled up in the big chair reading some bedtime stories
The Dyers came to visit at the end of September and stayed for the whole day. A great time was had by all...Chick Fil A, Baskin Robbins, and tons of cousin play time! We had pizza on the deck before they had to head home. Thanks for the visit!
