Scenes from December!
Cool snowflakes on Hannah's eyelashes!
We headed to Columbia to see Kate perform with the Russian Ballet in Nutcracker. Great job, Kate!
We dog-sat for a BIG dog named Sasha!
We shopped at Shoal Creek Kids Mall, an awesome December tradition!
The kids singing at a Chapel church service for Children's Choir
Our friend Sue's son is now a famous children's book author. He has a new book coming out and he came to Woodneath library near us to introduce the book. So fun!
Santa came to visit the Gamet's house at their Christmas Party!
A fort! Nothing's better than a fort and a flashlight! Lauren decided to sleep in it for the night :)
It was a snowy day, and the girls said they wanted to sew...so we sewed and made projects that they each designed. Lauren made a pillow with a painted snowflake and Hannah made a pillow to match the Ipad case that she had already made!
Sledding fun!
Snowy day baking with friends!
Lauren's Sunday School teacher, Mr. Charlie. He's a really special guy! He's been teaching Sunday School to Preschool and Kindergarteners for many years!
We loaded up the girls in the car and told them we had a surprise. We headed to Midwest Animal Rescue and surprised them by telling them that they were getting a dog!! Greg and I had been looking for awhile and picked out Grant, who is going to be a great family dog. He's a Shepherd mix who is 6 month old and I think he already fits right in! He's a great dog so far :)
Sledding fun with neighbors! We like to sled in our side yard or in the Shannon's backyard. But this year, we realized a great new sledding spot. We headed over a couple of blocks to a big hill that has been cleared for new construction. It's a really good sledding hill!
Lauren's Second Friends Christmas performance!
Doing the Happy Snow Dance :)
Hannah's 2nd Grade Christmas Party! Launching "snowballs" (cotton balls) for the game was a big hit!
Walking Grant in the melting snow...
For Hannah's birthday party this year, we her friends came over in the morning and we went to an early movie! They went and saw Sing! and had breakfast/cinnamon rolls before we left. It was a fun party idea that Hannah had, and it was a great time! Greg was a big hit when it came to purchase snacks at the snack bar, also :) Candy for all!
On Hannah's real birthday, she woke up and unwrapped presents. There were two presents...a new blue/teal fuzzy comforter, and a trip to Great Wolf Lodge! Get packing, we're headed to Great Wolf!
We "elfed" ourselves and this was one screen shot. So funny! I highly recommending using the app to "elf" yourself!
More from Great Wolf Lodge!
Christmas Eve!
Putting Reindeer food outside!
A new nature Safari set!
Making new markers with a marker-making set!
We went to Columbia on the 26th! Celebrating with Gramma Jan and Grampa Bill!
Back in Liberty--Cousins came to play for awhile!
Gramma Jan and Grampa Bill came up to visit!
Main Street Goods and Goodies is one of our favorite places!
New Year's Eve! There was a really fun family-oriented New Year's experience that we did this year. There were different activities throughout the day for families, all over the Northland. We went ice-skating, played board games at a church, and went to a party at a community center where there were bounce houses, food, swimming, and all sorts of things to do! This was the first year we all stayed up for the New Year! We watched the Times Square celebration on TV and cheered in the new year!
