Recently we had a visit from our good friends Mark and Mandi, along with their three kids. We had a terrific weekend with them and had lots of holiday adventures together. As you can imagine, with 4 kids 4 and under, things were quite busy!
We ventured out to Crown Center, where there were so many things to do for kids. It was a great time! We saw Santa and the kids got to climb around in the Crayola Christmas room where there were all sorts of giant crayons, etc to climb on. Then we went to Kaleidoscope, a play area filled with art supplies and exhibits that the kids loved. After hours of fun, we finished up with a trip to the chocolate shop and headed home...exhausted!
Waiting in the (very long) line for Santa...

Visiting Santa. Hannah is not a fan of Santa. This Santa was very nice and tried his best by offering Hannah stickers, etc. but this is the closest she would get to him. Since our visit, when I mention he will be bringing her presents on Christmas, she gets a scared look and says "no!".

Mark and Mandi brought 2 cakes with them--one Thomas the Train cake for Nate (who turned 3 during the trip) and one Elmo/Big Bird cake for Hannah for an early birthday party. The cakes were amazing and it was so nice to be able to celebrate the kids' birthdays together. Of course, they were a fan of b-day cake 2 days in a row also!
To finish off a great weekend, we decided to go to T-Rex Cafe at The Legends. This place is incredible! I think the adults liked it just as much as the kids. There were giant dinosaurs everywhere that moved. It's hard to explain, but it really was a neat place. We went there originally for the Build-A-Dino store too, but none of the kids seemed that interested (hooray!). BUt it turned out to be worth the trip for the restaurant alone. They brought out a humongous dessert since it was Nate's birthday. Despite several almost-injuries from children running in a semi-lit area (!) everyone had a great time. We sat next to the giant triceratops which was good dinner entertainment as well :)
A group photo in front of the Christmas tree that may or may not play Christmas music every 15 minutes...it was TOO cold that we didn't wait around to find out!
What a fun weekend. Thanks for visiting! Merry Christmas!
