January 2014!

Yes, that's right..January! It is September, but I'm backtracking a bit to January.  I took a break from uploading pictures to the blog, thinking there may be a better way out there to record our adventures.  But photo books and old fashioned scrapbooks just haven't seemed the same, and so I'm returning to this format.  Of course, a lot has happened since last December! The good thing is, I didn't take a break from taking pictures! But it will take some time to catch up!

January!!

We kicked off the New Year with a trip to Wamego, KS to the Wizard of Oz Museum! Everyone had the day off work/school, so we decided to road trip and it was a great time! I thought it was amazing that the museum was even open on New Year's Day--apparently lots of people want to ring in the new year the same way! We got to Wamego mid-day and had a fun lunch/picnic in the back of the van at the local Sonic.  The girls thought this was wonderful :) Then we went to the museum for a couple of hours and headed back that evening.  A great day, and this place is still Hannah's favorite place on earth!

The first snow of the 2014 came early! January 2nd Snow Angels!

Thanks to Aunt Geni and Uncle Dave...we had a ginormous pool/ball pit in our living room!! We had to move the furniture around just to make room for it! Lots of fun on cold winter days.

I was gone for a few days to cheer on the Tigers at the bowl game in Dallas! Greg and the girls had some fun adventures while I was gone. And Gramma Jan and Grampa Bill came to visit too!

Chick Fil A Treats :) This is our favorite place to eat out...good food, good service, and a play land.  What more could anyone ask for?!

Bowling with Gramma and Grampa at Diamond Bowl in Independence...the best bowling place for kiddos.  Bumpers on the lanes, ramps to roll the balls down, a menu where you can order snacks right to your lane...awesome!

Grampa and Lauren checking out the fish tank at T-Rex Cafe :)

So it's really hard to see in this picture, but one day Hannah called me into her room. She showed this to me...she had alphabetized all of her fairy books by title! Pretty amazing.  But the more amazing thing is that we actually read all of those. :(  These books are her favorite! And they are painful to read...basically the same book over and over with different characters and slightly different plot.  We were very thankful when she moved on to a different series :) We probably read 50 of those books over the course of a year or so. Ugg.

Paradise Park! Hannah loves the craft room, and it's a great place to be on a cold day!

Christmas Cookies! Yum!

Planet Sub! This is another one of our favorite places. Very kid-friendly and they have crayons and coloring pages on the tables :)  Ham and Cheese sandwiches with chips and red fruit punch.  It's a hit!

Lauren-Lou riding her new scooter from Santa!

Lauren playing school :) This girl is ready to go!

The Drymalski family came to visit one weekend and we made the most of it with a visit to Shatoo Dairy and also the zoo! Fun times!

Hannah got her very own library card!! She checked out American Girl books, Beezus and Ramona, and some fairy books.  Unfortunately, I think the fairy books were the only ones that she chose to read.  Ahhhh!!! :) I know most of you probably haven't read them so you can't relate.  That's ok..just know that they are terrible :)

This was a fun night spent with good friends and neighbors.  They have since moved away, but we had great times with them and we miss them!
