October!

October! Here are scenes from one of my favorite months of the year. Hooray for fall, beautiful leaves, fun with family, Halloween, and pumpkin patches :)

Lauren starts October off right by helping me make some cookies and licking the bowl :) We made Halloween cookies, but didn't actually take pictures of them...this was the best one I got. They were tasty, though!

Apple Butter Day!

The annual Sam's Club shopping trip to get snacks for Pumpkin Day!

Pumpkin Day!

Lauren "feeding her bunnies" before bed.  She asks to do this every night. This is a little porcelain bunny-shaped box that GGA got for her, and Lauren loves to feed her bunnies with the little carrot inside. :)

Lauren lounging in-between flips at the gymnastics open gym :)

Baking!

This is at a service club event where the girls were making sack lunches for other people to hand out to those in need in downtown KC.

Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch!

It was a Blue October in KC! The Royals made it to the World Series, so many of the fountains in KC were colored blue to celebrate! Quite the fun October for KC!

Lauren's off to school! She is very independent and has to carry her backpack by herself every day, even though it is nearly bigger than she is.  Here she is about to "cross the bridge" as she says.  She loves her school, her friends, and her teachers--Hilltop has been a great place for her!

Trip to Columbia--hanging out at Kate's soccer game with the gang

Lauren riding a school bus for the very first time! We were riding the shuttle bus to the RB Elementary BBQ Chicken Dinner with Gramma Jan and Grampa Bill and the Mees cousins. Such a fun evening!

Hanging out with friends at Bethel Park in Columbia

On this day, Lauren and I were walking down our street when suddenly she sees the Stop sign and turns around and says "Stop Mom! It says for us to Stop!" :) Always watching out for everyone!

Lauren at her first dentist appointment ever! No cavities!

Carving Pumpkins!

Lauren all dressed up for her school Halloween party! She was Doc McStuffins and had lots of fun trick-or-treating at school :)

The pumpkins are carved and ready to go!

At the Annual LHS Halloween Party for kiddos

Lauren at the MOPS Halloween Party!

Hannah at her class Halloween Party!

Halloween night! All ready to go! We went to the Trunk or Treat at 2nd Baptist, then to downtown Liberty to Trick or Treat on the square, then to our friends Fran and Bobs' house, and then to Trick or Treat around the neighborhood.  What a fun night! Glad that Grandma Nell joined in the fun with us too!
