| Lauren and her friend, Speedy the Snail :) |
| A close up of Speedy. Lauren and her friend, Lily, even traded Speedy back and forth between their houses for a bit so they would each get to spend time with him :) |
Hannah's class took a fun field trip to Paradise Park. They did a lot of educational activities there about maps and grids and nature, but they also had a lot of time to just play and have fun. This picture of the rock wall is Hannah climbing all the way to the top! She was the only kid in her class to make it to the top! Wow! Maybe a hidden talent? and a lot of determination?!
At the beginning of April, Gramma Jan was re-elected to the Columbia School Board! This is at her watch party when the girls congratulated her :)
Lauren on a pretty day leaving preschool. She is such a sweetie. When I pick her up, she always runs to me and jumps into my arms and gives me a hug. She is always smiling and ready to see me, with a story to tell about school. Love that part of the day :)
Trying out the new umbrella from Grandma Nell. Lauren loves playing in the rain :)
Lauren's class took a fun field trip the Liberty Fire Station. Lots of fun going in the fire truck, seeing a firefighter in his outfit, and learning what firefighters do.
Back at home...eating corn on the cob for the first time this year... yum!
Hannah practicing her gymnastics...she loves to practice...even on the hardwood floor. Ouch!
Lauren and her good friend Lilly :) Up until just recently, Lilly lived right down the street, so we had really frequent playtimes. Lilly just moved, but we will hopefully still see her a lot. They like to play with worms, dress up, play pretend...such sweet friends :)
Hannah and I took a special trip with Girl Scouts to the Bingham-Waggoner estate in Independence. This was a really neat old mansion, where everything in it has been preserved from the late 1800s. We toured the mansion and then had a great time chatting and playing games and eating a picnic lunch on the lawn. Thankful for her great Girl Scout unit that plans these events.
Playing in the sprinkler for the first time this year! Hooray for warm weather!
Lauren taking a ride on the horse at Fun Run at the annual MOPS party :) The girls each got a few quarters to use in the arcade and Lauren chose the pony ride.
Hannah participated in the LHS Basketball camp this year. It was a really great camp and she had fun! She's learning the fundamentals of the game and got to spend some time with the girls on the High School basketball team, which was really fun for her. A neat experience!
Lauren decorating a cake all by herself :)
This day, at quiet time, Lauren had created a hockey stick out of a yard stick and some painter's tape. I have no idea where she learned about hockey, but she was practicing in her room. She made a puck out of a ball of tape and was shooting it into a little basket. That evening, she showed me what she had been up to and demonstrated. She was so excited to make a goal and yelled "YES! In your face!" Do which my reply was stunned silence. I have no idea where she has heard this?! How has she become a fierce hockey fan without my knowledge?! Ha! Maybe another preschool classmate has a background in hockey...?
Hannah and I working together at Schumacher. Her teacher took this picture. I love going to volunteer with Hannah's class and have really enjoyed getting to know her classmates and teacher.
Time at the zoo!
