July! This summer was devoted to relaxation! We tried to keep the pace pretty slow...plenty of time for all of the fun summer stuff like going to the pool, playing outside, watching tv on lazy summer days, getting together with friends, etc. But July was also the time for VBS, Twlight camp, and get-togethers with family in Columbia. Hooray for summer days!
July 4th!
An overnight with cousins at Papa's House!
Hannah and Addie started their own cupcake-making business. They made cupcakes and delivered them...they are quite the little entrepreneurs :)
And Lauren got in on the business too :)
It was another fun year of VBS at church! Since she is four, this was Lauren's first year of getting to participate in all of the VBS activities. It was a cave theme this year and everyone had a great time!
Twilight Camp! It was an Olympics theme this year and there were all sort of activities for the girls to participate in. I think Hannah's favorite was the waterslide! It was a really hot week so the pool and waterslide were big hits!
For a vacation this summer, we wanted a spot that was not too far of a drive, but still had plenty to do for a few days away. We decided on Topeka, and it was a great time! We went to the Children's Museum, the zoo, and Children's art center at their campus art museum, a trampoline/arcade place, mini-golfing, and to a great city park/pool with waterslides. And of course, we swam in the hotel pool too! It was a great trip. We also had to stop by the American Girl store in Overland Park on our way :)
A neat little machine in the art museum where you could by artists' creations
Hannah is really good at climbing the wall! She made it to the top!
Getting ready to zipline!
At the Discovery Center...playing in this really neat exhibit where the kids get to cooperate to move grain through different mechanisms to simulate a silo.
Making creations in the wood shop at the Discovery Center
The city pool, which was a ton of fun! Waterslides, a little kids area, and a HUGE pool!
Feeding the giraffes!
Just a random cute picture of Lou before church one day when she had picked out her pretty baptism dress to wear :)
