July 2018!

Fourth of July Fun! The kids decorated their bikes for the 4th with the Marcantonios, and then had a bike parade down Poplar Lane. Carrie made a GIANT ice cream Sundae that was a huge hit! We went to the Royal's game with Gramma Jan and Grampa Bill and it was awesome! Amazing fireworks and a beautiful night for a game! We finished off the evening by coming home and doing some of our own fireworks. It was a great day!

Playing some more on Poplar Lane after July 4th

We had a fun week of VBS! The theme this year was Rolling River Rampage. Lots of water fun and good times with friends! I was one of Lauren's group leaders so I got a few more pictures of her.

At the End-of-VBS party!

Lauren took her turn to go visit Gramma Jan and Grampa Bill in Columbia while Hannah stayed here. Both had such a fun week! This was Lauren's first time away from the rest of the family for that long, and she did great!

Lauren on the way to Columbia--

Pottery Island! Always a hit!

Runge Nature Center in Jefferson City, followed by Central Dairy!

Washing the car with Grampa Bill!

Back at home in Liberty!

 Power Play!

Stroud's for Fried Chicken Dinner!

Lauren--back at home again! Here she is waiting for her dance class to start at Studio 10

Farmer's Market Fun! Balloon animals are a farmer's market tradition.

Tiffany Springs Water Park! A perfect treat for a hot July day!

A surprise in the mail from Papa A!

Babysitting Anselme for a couple of hours! So fun to try to teach him English. The girls got out their letter animals to get him started. They have a great time playing with him and he loves it!

Skating with Annabelle!

We took a few days in July to go to St. Louis and it was time well spent! We went to the Zoo, Science Center, Planetarium, City Museum, Fitz's, and had lots of hotel fun too!

Lauren's swimsuit had a major malfunction! Ha!

St. Louis Zoo! We happened to see the Marcantonios there too, which was so fun! They were doing a trip to St. Louis at the same time.

We went to an evening event at the St. Louis Arboretum. They had a lot of "glow" features, music, food, and the place was beautiful! Probably not the girls' favorite part of the trip, but I thought it was neat! And Hannah had the biggest hot dog ever :)

City Museum! Lots of climbing around on amazing and giant play structures/randomly constructed items. This place is one-of-a-kind! We stayed until it closed and probably would have stayed longer if we could have!

Fitz's Root Beer place for dinner!

Science Center--Virtual Reality Machine!

Headed home from St. Louis after a wonderful trip!

Mercury Gym in Liberty for free play with Lily!

Lauren's performance for Studio 10. It was at Gladstone Amphitheater and they did a "Butterflies" dance where they released butterflies at the end. Very creative! Addie joined us for the recital and afterwards, we celebrated with Sonic.

Swimming at the neighborhood pool! A staple of summertime.

Being silly on Poplar Lane--

L:auren's 100th Day of School Project...we had to take an obligatory picture before we finally threw it away :(

Adventures in the kitchen! Making homemade taffy and hard candy! The taffy may or may not have been really stiff...causing us to change the plan to hard candy! A fun kitchen experiment, and it was pretty yummy!

Trying out the new B and B Movie Theater! It was amazing! Right in Liberty and every seat is reclining and heated. Hard to believe, but true! B and B's start was in Liberty, so they wanted to build one of their best theaters here, and we are loving it!

Taking care of Waffles, the Shannon's cat...right before Waffles was mean to Lauren :(

Water Balloon Fight on Poplar Lane!

 Lauren loves emojis :)

Kate Shannon made cream cheese mints and came over to see if we wanted some. It made my day! These are the exact same ones (same molds, same colors) we used to make at home when I was little!
